Hello Creative, have you taken the joy challenge? Lately we have been talking about bringing more joy into our lives! This is the fourth and last in this series. No worries if you haven’t read those posts yet, you don’t have to read them in order but I would encourage you to read the others. (I have listed them at the end of this post.)
On Mixed Media Monday we put together this pinkalicous unicorn set! It’s perfect for todays post. Let me set the scene, close your eyes and remember a time that totally made you happy. Do you have it? Hold onto that thought. For me thoughts run baby girl, now at the ripe old age of 5 and in Kindergarten. I was thinking about when she lived here and how much fun we had. She loves working in the studio – she has her own drawer full of supplies and really enjoys punching paper shapes and coloring. She lives out of state now with my son and we miss her terribly! Somehow creating things I know she will love makes me feel closer to her.
- This sweet little unicorn is from the Whimsical Wonders die cut ephemera collection! Add some bright magenta paint, Dragonfly glaze and Glitterific to make this adorable tag.
Take me back – Now that you have that wonderful memory, think about what you can do to recreate that feeling. We cant always go back and recreate that moment, however you can be recreate parts of it to bring back some of that joy. (And create new joyful memories!)
Together these unicorn inspired items will make for a wonderful gift for baby girl. Did I mention she wants a unicorn for Christmas? A real one not a stuffed one… Not sure how I can make that happen! LOL!
- Make an impression with my Unicorn Art Foamies stamp onto some Hearty clay. (Air dry clay) Use Magical Mysteries Kiss of the Fairy embossing powders from Rita Barakat and Emerald Creek.
Take the challenge
If you can’t go back lets think of ways to recreate the moment. You could scrapbook or journal it. If its a person you could spend time with them give them a call. You could make something for that person or in honor of that person and include things they love. Anything that would give you joy would be taking the joy challenge!
- Mix Colorburst powder with Hearty Clay. Use clay and a my Unicorn Art Foamies stamp to make an impression. The Art Foamies stamps have really deep grooves to make wonderful stamps on paper, fabric and clay! Add some bright magenta paint, Dragonfly glaze and Glitterific to make this super fun canvas.
- For the letters- glue them on and cover with gesso and paint.
Martha created this adorable shaker card using the my Art Foamies Fairy stamp! Visit Marthas Blog the for details!
