Hey creative! Have you ever wondered when to use a foam stamp, or why? I love the clean lines of a foam stamp and once you use these stamps you will too!
*I used my Birdie stamp from Art Foamies on this little canvas bag.

Why and when to use a foam stamp
- Foam stamps are flexible. They work great on just about every surface because they are larger in size and are flexible. If you have ever tried to stamp a curved surface you know how hard it is. A foam stamp easily conforms to a bent or curved shape. Stamps can be used on paper, fabric, glass, and walls.
- They have deep grooves, and because of it, you get great impressions every time, even on clay! Because of the larger size, they work great on fabric, even if the fabric has lots of textures you will get a crisp image.
- Foam stamps are easy to use! They are large and lightweight so they fit nicely in your hands. (Or your kid’s hands!) These stamps don’t need any type of platform or holder to use. You can use paint, ink or mists with these stamps. *Tip-You can use them with a Gel plate and stamp an image or stamp the plate and lift the image.
*Karen used the Heartwing stamp by Rita Barakat for Art Foamies.

Foam stamps can be used in similar techniques that you use with rubber or acrylic stamps. Martha teaches about shadow stamping on her blog using this new stamp in the collection!

I have wondered about foam stamps. I saw some of yours at the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo a couple of months ago. It makes sense that they would be good for fabric…The bird is really cute!
