Hey creative! I’m sharing some insider artsy secrets today! We will make five mixed media backgrounds in thirty minutes! Have you ever been in a slump where you don’t feel creative? Or you have so much going on you don’t know where to start? (Hello – that is so me!) Well, today’s post is for you! I love to create all the time but sometimes I need to get those creative juices flowing because I don’t “feel” creative. That’s when I pull out some supplies and do this…

Watch this! Not only does this change my mood but helps me create tons of backgrounds for future projects!! You will be able to make five backgrounds in thirty minutes or less because you will have your tools out ahead of time (and not be doing it live! Lol)

Here are some basic supplies you might need: paper – mixed media, watercolor paper, or heavyweight cardstock. Paint- three or four colors that will compliment each other. A brayer or old hotel key card (I used this tool in the video). Random things around the house that can add patterns to your paint. And bonus some glittery goodness or metallic paint for extra sparkle😉!
*The stamp in photo above is “BFF’s” and is available in the shop now!

Look at this page- how simple would it be to add a sentiment here like “thank you for being a friend” or “I’ll be here for you” to make this into a very sweet card for a friend?

So what do you do with these backgrounds when you are finished? Turn them into cards, scrapbook pages, add them to your art journals, make mini books or crafty projects. I am sure you have someone in your life that would be so blessed to receive something handmade from you!
Blessings!
Rita
