The magic of jellyfish
Hey, Creatives! Have you ever seen those fish tanks that have the black light and the fish glow? I went to the aquarium and they had these very cool huge tanks filled with jellyfish. They had those black lights so the jellyfish seemed to glow in the dark, it was mesmerizing! Very calming and the movement was slow and beautiful. This is what I was thinking of when I created the drawings for these jellyfish that later turned into stamps. They are so beautiful that you forget that those tentacles can sting you!
When I did this project I used Magical Mysteries by Rita Barakat and Emerald Creek embossing powder. Wanting to recreate that same glowing feeling as in the aquarium, I used Kiss of the Fairy and Midnight Magic; both colors glow in the dark!

No underwater scene is complete without seagrass and I added this cute clamshell as well! You can watch the replay of Mixed Media Monday and watch how this came to life below. I used Dragons Egg from the Magical Mysteries by Rita Barakat and Emerald Creek embossing powder on top of my stamp line with Technique Junkies.
Stamps used in the magic of jellyfish project are Seagrass, Jellyfish, and the Clamshell. These are perfect for all those underwater and mermaid themes! The painted backdrop was a pour technique using marbling paints from Plaid.

Here is another quick project using a leftover scrap- I was testing out some mists from Aladine. Since I had the stamp out I was able to make a base for a card just by adding the same clamshell stamp! SO fun!

ON a different note but the color scheme, our adorable DT lead Betz made this sweet card for her friend using the Friends sunset stamp by Rita Barakat for Technique Junkies.https://www.etsy.com/listing/620574332/rita-barakat-friends-stamp-friends-stamp?ref=shop_home_active_5

Pretty! Love the clam😍
I like how the clam wasn’t colored in–you just left it “plain” so the background colors showed through. Nice.
