Sometimes a flower is a flower, sometimes a flower is an inspiration. One of my favorite quotes is “bloom where you a planted” I truly believe that everyone goes through hard times, even yours truly. Although we go through those hard times we need to stick it out, and eventually bloom where you are planted. Let’s talk creatives…

Betz made this darling little reminder that “maybe you are not buried, perhaps you have been planted”.
I found this twist on blooming where you are planted interesting because sometimes when things are so hard it does feel like you have been buried. I’ve been there, I feel it now. But if you hold on, things do shift and your situation will pass. And while I know this time will pass I completely understand this feeling of buried not planted. I also know that sometimes what looks like a bad thing at the time could turn out to be a good thing, a very good thing.
What Betz had to say about her project and the inspiration behind it!
A few years ago I was extremely ill. Constant fatigue and inability to get out of bed each morning without help impacted the quality of my life. It had been so long since I felt good that I did not know I was feeling ill. When something happens all the time or you feel a certain way the majority of the time you start to think it is normal. To top it off, I hated going to the doctor. When I finally did go, my labs were horrible. Three years of medical testing to determine that I had Celiac Disease. Eventually, I got to a point in which I physically could not move some days. That caused me to be sad and depressed. My sense of purpose in life was shaken. I was fading and losing control of life it seemed. Finally, I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, started weekly injections and a gluten-free diet.
Two years later and actively treating my disease, I am able to live life to the fullest! Sure I have to avoid gluten and get an injection every week, but that is so much better than being tired and sick! I found a quote that really has stuck with me. The Rita Barakat’s limited edition Beautiful Blooms. reminded me of the motto. I knew they were perfect for this “Maybe you are not being buried…perhaps you are being planted” canvas.
To create this special canvas I created the background with a few different paints and faux paint system. I have a video here of how to do it: https://youtu.be/N10epB4Jqms
I just layered the Beautiful Blooms die cuts on pop dots and assembled, stamped the title, inked the edges and ran each word through my Xyron sticker maker.
The saying is so true and if you are going through a dark time, don’t worry! You will BLOOM!
Until next time ~ Happy Crafting!

Be Kind
I don’t know what you are going through, but I do know that holidays can be rough on people even in the best circumstances so be kind to yourself. Remind yourself that it’s not forever, that there may be for a reason for this season but keep holding on. You are not alone. WHEN you come out on the other side of whatever you are going through, you will be stronger than you thought and you will bloom.

P.S. Don’t forget to join on Monday New Years Eve in our group Rise and Shine with Rita Barakat! We are going to party into the New Year! Join us starting at 8 pm CST BYOCS – Bring your own Crafty Supplies! We will have challenges! Prizes! Livestreams and videos!
