Hello, Creatives! It’s time to be festive! Red Riding Hood is in the house! Now I can’t say that little red riding hood was one of my favorite stories growing up until I saw Ricky Ricardo telling it in Spanish on an episode of I Love Lucy! If you’ve never seen it, he was quite a character! Of course, when I decided to draw little red I gave her a retro dress and super cool tall boots! Susan is up today on the blog and she holds nothing back when it comes to getting her sparkle on! She is using Little Red Riding Hood from the Fairytale Collection and a couple of the Beautiful Blooms flowers on top of some very cool mixed media techniques today… (did I mention a video…)
Look at all the texture Susan created for this backdrop! She even shares a video with us about her process…
Time to be festive!
Susan’s thought’s on her inspiration behind this adorable project!
Rita Barakat Fairy Tale and Beautiful Blooms ephemera have become a staple in my art room. I find that they are such a great way to add a focal piece to my projects. I can always find an ephemera piece that goes with the background colors of the project that I am working on. There is such a great variety and they are fun to work with! I created a page in my art journal featuring Little Red Ridinghood from Rita Barakats’ Fairy Tale Die Cut set. To showcase the Little Red Ridinghood I place her in the middle of a couple Blooms. I used a variety of paints, sequence, trim and buttons to bring the page to life.
You can find me on YouTube at Tickled Pink Creating where I have a playlist of all my Rita Barakat Design Team projects.
