Hey Creatives, have you seen the Fairytale Collection? It’s a nod to some of my favorite stories. I always loved escaping into a good book as a child! The stories that captured my heart the most were the ones that had strong and outspoken female leads (um I can relate lol). They also have magical, fantastic situations that make for very fun colorful and creative ideas! (The fairytale collection is in the shop now.)
With all the Disney inspired challenges on Mixed Media Monday it is fitting that today’s project includes this art journal page from Michelle including our heroine Jasmine. It is in the first storybooks that we read where we discover and imagine a beautiful life.
Here’s what Michelle had to say about her pages:
Do you remember the first time you saw Aladdin? I love the Disney version of it that came out in the 1980s. The Jasmine was the perfect “spark” for an art journal page. It reminded me of her independent sassy spirit. This art page is full of color and glitz — just like Jasmine. Aladdin, the street rat suitor, is a young man with a wild imagination and a desire to share an adventure with Princess Jasmine. Naturally, this story inspires dreams of a beautiful life. A colorful and textured background coordinates well with beautiful Jasmine from the Fairytale Ephemera Collection. I used a variety of inks, and paints along with texture paste, mica powder, stamps, glue and glitter to create this page.
Here is a close up so you can see all the fun textures and colors. Please leave Michelle some love and don’t forget to check out those challenges on Mixed Media Monday!

I love that you were so inspired by Jasmine. Your project is wonderful. I love all of the glittery-shiny elements, and of course the girl. Great job. I am now inspired to make one for myself…
These ladies are really sweet. Nice job Rita. So cute.
Thank you Madeline!
