How to have a grateful heart during the hard times:
Hello Creatives! I love fall, October has gone by so quickly and November is already upon us! November is fabulous as people tend to be a little kinder (unless you go to the mall on a Saturday! LOL), more thoughtful and grateful for what they have. When I talk to others I hear their stories of how hard some of their lives are. I understand completely, life is so hard sometimes and I understand how important it is to remain grateful in spite of our situations. So here are some things you can do to remain grateful during the hard times.

How to have a grateful heart during the hard times:
1. Lists lists lists!
When things get rough I try to make daily lists that I can be grateful for. Even if you have to start small, three things daily, there is always something to be thankful for. For instance “Today I woke up -it’s a new day or Today I am grateful for my …spouse, kids, parents, pet, friend.” You fill in the blank similarly, “Today I am thankful for laughter, a hug, a child’s smile, a cup of tea or coffee or…” whatever you drink. “Today I am grateful for color, art, a job, a car, heat, shelter…
2. Do something for someone else. Listen, be there, write (oh yeah I said it actually write on paper! ) a note to encourage someone else. Maybe take someone to lunch. Enjoy their company, be grateful they are in your life.
3. Celebrate the little things! When the kids were little we celebrated every time they were out for school and we had many unbirthday parties! Remember when you were dating and you celebrate those small anniversaries? Is it time to celebrate again now? Celebrate others achievements- it’s good for them and good for you! Celebrate your accomplishments, even the little ones! Treat yourself with a little a little you time. Can’t get away? You can maybe get yourself a little something or take some creative time for yourself! Whatever will help you make your own day!
- Gratitude opens the door to more relationships. …
- improves physical health. …
- improves psychological health. …
- enhances empathy and reduces aggression. …
- improves self-esteem.
- Grateful people sleep better. …
What Jenn had to say about her project!
I love quotes, sayings, expressions, etc. and Rita’s Grateful Heart die cut was absolutely the perfect beautiful touch on this tag!! The green and blue she used matched the color scheme perfectly! Her artistic whimsical leaves are such great detail and adding some splashes of white acrylic and dew drop embellishments really brought it to the shabby look I wanted.
Make sure to leave Jen some love for her beautiful tag and I would love to hear other ways you find to be grateful!
And don’t forget to join us for Mixed Media Monday!!!! 8PM CST

Very pretty and
fabulous encouragement

Thank you Carla, I needed to remind myself!
Thank you Jenn, for the inspirational message in addition to the beautiful tag. Sometimes we need to be reminded of these things.
Thank you Tanya – message was mine project was Jenns. 😉 And most times I need to remind myself!
Thank you for your ideas, Rita. I am going through more health issues right now, and want to remain grateful throughout…Physical problems remind us that this body wasn’t made to last–but our new bodies will.
I am so sorry to hear this Sharon, hang in there and write down those things you are thankful for!
I love this and needed this. I know about everything you wrote here, i just needed a reminder. Thank you!
You are so welcome and I totally understand! Sometimes I am reminding myself as I write! 🙂
