Hello Creatives, do you think that mermaids come out at midnight? Can’t you just imagine this mermaid waiting for nightfall to appear so that she can enjoy the beautiful night stars? Monica brings us this gorgeous project today full rich deep blue tones to represent the night sky.

Midnight Mermaid
The blue mermaid is one of five mermaids in the “mermaid tails” die-cut collection. If you love mermaids as I do, I also have a magical mermaids die-cut collection available in the shop. Each mermaid has her own style and color combo, I love the blues and hints of green and purple. Monica did a great job making that wonderfully textured backdrop for her! It makes you want to feel the piece!
What Monica had to say about her midnight mermaid project!
Everyone loves mermaids right?! Well, this gorgeous mermaid ephemera die-cut from Rita Barakat is just amazing. For me, the focus on the different shades of blue my mermaid is flaunting so I created a deep sultry blue and black background to really draw out the coloring of the mermaid. Using a variation of sprays, paint and some modeling paste to give my background some added texture.
I envisioned my mermaid being in a pool of water looking up at the beautiful night sky. So I splashed a touch of white gesso for some stars and the gems represented the beauty of her eyes.
Both sets of mermaid die cuts are available in the shop now!
