Hello Everyone! It’s Betz with a bright and cheery project of whimsical paper dolls. I used Rita’s book, Magical Theatre, Create and Play With Movable Dolls I created the fairy, mushrooms, paper dolls and background from the book. Pictures of my children to make the project more personal. I love Alice in Wonderland so I had that in the back of my mind. My daughter is Alice with her drink and book. Can you spot her?
The Mad Hatter
My son said he was the Mad Hatter based on the picture I chose of him. I love how you can create any color scheme you want and this darling fairy looks so sweet with her bright pink hair and flowered outfit.
The Cheshire Cat
The Magical Theatre has so many options for backgrounds, props, and fairies. These polka dot mushrooms add more whimsy to the piece. The picture of my youngest is so cute, he reminds me of the Cheshire Cat with his calculating grin. I love glitter so I added glitter glue to everything! I share a few tips and tricks in this tutorial I created for you here:

This has to be one of my favorite mixed media pieces I’ve ever created. The Magical Theatre book provided the bright whimsical feel I wanted and the pictures of my kids gave it a personal touch. This truly is a piece that will be cherished for years to come.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
