Happy Friday Peeps! I am over the moon with this little fairy! If you haven’t seen my new fairy die cuts you must go over to the shop to check them out! http://etsy.me/2pAVwCP This little fairy “Over the Moon” is just one of five fairies found in this collection The Veil of the Fairies.
When I was drawing this fairy I was thinking…
When I was drawing this fairy I was thinking of those melancholy moments when you just need to be alone. I live a very busy life with kids, (special needs kids) and for the past six years taking care of my other with Alzheimers. She passed away in January (thank you for those prayers) and of course it left a void. That crazy constant state of panic and anxiety over what was going on with her – especially the last six months, had my heart racing all the time and now that’s it’s gone it’s left me in a weird place. I’m sure you have been there when you lose a loved one and the world goes on but you are still in a weird place.
That melancholy place.
I was going. going. going and now all of sudden I don’t have to do those things anymore. It’s a weird feeling. All around life goes on, and you have to get back to it or life will just move on without you. I just need a little more time.
You can’t physically remove yourself from life (we have work, family and who knows how long that would take to get over anyway).
But you can throw yourself into art like I did and get away metaphorically! This is how my little sweet fairy “over the Moon” was born.
A challenge for you…
Other thoughts that come to mind… She could just be taking a little rest from her fairy activities. Maybe she is stopping to take a little inventory of things below. Things that need a little more magical fairy dusting perhaps? After all, a faires work is never done!
Do you wonder what magical things are happening with your creations? I would love to see and hear about them!
How about a challenge? I will send a set of “the veil of the fairies” to one person who leaves me a story about this fairy here in the comments!
I will announce the winner next Friday!
In other news, I am so excited to share that Scrapbook Adhesives is sponsoring a huge giveaway the first week of April!
