Hello creative friends and Rita Barakat Fans!! Jenn here today showing you a super cute card for Valentine’s Day! Rita’s Art Foamie Balloon stamp is perfect for this Hot Air Balloon valentine!
Supplies:
Rita Barakat Art Foamies Balloon stamp
Black card base
White cardstock
Valentines paper
Ink pads in pink shades
Embossing powder (Lindy’s Angel Wings Mauve)
Adhesive
Sentiment sticker (Tim Holtz Small Talk Occasions)
Embossing tool
Here are instructions to create this adorable hot air balloon valentine card!
Start by inking Art Foamie Balloon stamps, top and basket, using ink pads. For this card, I used Versa Magic and Prima inks as shown in picture below.
Using an iridescent embossing powder, coat the stamped image. For my card, I used Lindy’s Angel Wings Mauve embossing powder. Shake off excess powder back into jar and heat set the powder with an embossing tool.
Once the embossing is dry, cut out the stamped images and set them aside.
Now onto the base!
This is a 5X7 black card base. These can be found at most craft stores in packages of multiple. From the Valentine themed paper, cut a piece 4 1/2″ X 6 1/2″. Using a tape gun or other adhesive, adhere to the front of the black card base.
Next, add adhesive foam squares to the backside of stamped balloon and basket.
Peel off the paper to expose adhesive and adhere the balloon top to the card. Cut the balloon basket down to size before adhering it to the card. Use strips of the trimmed paper to use as strings to the balloon. These were glued directly onto the card.
Finally, add the “is in the air” sticker to the basket. For my card I used a sticker from the Tim Holtz Small Talk Occasions pad. Now you have this adorable Love Is In The Air Valentine’s card to give to that special someone!
