Happy 2018 everyone! Jenn here and I want to share a rather simple project with you. It’s nearly time for Valentine’s Day and this post will show you how I created a simple, pretty Valentine card. This is a project you can do with the littles too! It is also simple enough to create several cards.
Start by gathering supplies:
Cardstock in coordinating colors (purple and pink)
White/Iridescent glitter cardstock
Double sided sticky tape
Pearl bling stickies
Iridescent pink and clear embossing powders
Embossing ink clear
Ink pads in coordinating colors
Circle die (for white circle)
Foam heart sticker
Happy Valentines sticker
Paper distressing tool
First, let’s create those beautiful wings!
These will be the main focus of your Valentine card. For this step, you will need the heart wing stamp, plain white cardstock, clear embossing ink, ink pads in pink and purple shades, iridescent embossing powder, clear embossing powder and heat tool.
Ink the stamp starting with the darker pink and apply it to the middle heart. It is ok if you ink outside the lines because we will be creating an ombre effect. Next, use a light lavender ink on the rest of the wings. Using a darker purple ink just brush the edges of the wings. Use clear embossing ink on the edges and sprinkle with an iridescent pink embossing powder. Activate with a heat tool and let dry. Once dry apply clear embossing ink to rest of stamp and repeat the previous step using clear embossing powder. Fussy cut this and set aside to apply to your Valentine card later.
Valentine card base
Start with heavy white cardstock and score and cut to your desired size. Rough up the edges with a paper distressing tool. Using the darker purple inker, brush lightly around the edges and dry with a heat tool to set the ink.
Cut a piece of colored cardstock to fit on top of the base and adhere it using double-sided tape or a tape runner.
Next, for a pop of color on your Valentine card, add some color coordinating washi tape to the top and bottom of the purple cardstock layer.
Use a circle die to cut out a large circle using a Pink or a patterned cardstock (I used a polka dot embossed paper) and a medium circle die to cut from the glitter cardstock. Layer the two and adhere to the front using double-sided tape.
The final assembly!
Now it is time to add those beautiful wings and some other fun things to make your Valentine card really stand out!
Adhere the wings to your Valentine card using foam sticky dots. Place it at a slight angle. Add foam heart and Happy Valentine’s stickers. Add a couple coordinating flowers.
Add pearl bling stickies for a pop of fun and now your Valentine card is complete and ready to give to someone special!
Thanks so much for visiting the blog and viewing my post today! I hope that you enjoyed it!
