Hello creative Friends!!
Jenn here today sharing my recent art journal entry “Sprinkle it with Fabulous”.
This was a very fun project using several mediums combined with the amazing Rita Barakat Designs stamps and stencil. In November the RB Design team did a collaboration with Anne Butler’s wonderful inks. I had so much fun playing along and had some things I had created left over, so I figured why not put them to use?!
Using Rita’s Art Foamies Zen Doodle stamp, Anne Butler inks, and embossing powders I had created these very neat designs.
After coloring them using watercolor pencils I suddenly had an idea! Why not use one of the amazing Rita Barakat Face Stencils and use these as her hair? FUN! The designs were also sprinkled with a fabulous iridescent embossing powder and heat set.
Here are all the steps!!
I cut out all of the pieces from above into smaller shapes and set them aside. Using the Rita Barakat Sweet Sisters Hearts stencil, I drew the face outline. Using small scissors I cut the pieces from above to size and laid them around her face until I liked the layout. Next, I finished the lines to complete her face and then watercolored her for all that beautiful color and detail.
Now she was ready for that glorious hairdo!!
After much thought, I decided to cut her out and place her on a background. This background was created using softer colors in the same family. Then some circles were drawn and colored using watercolor pencils. For a bit more sparkle, I sprinkled with iridescent embossing powder and heat set parts of the circles. Next, the outer edges, black swirly lines were drawn and smudged with my finger. Using the same Anne Butler inks on just the top portion of Rita’s Art Foamie’s Hot Air Balloon Stamp, I stamped inside those lines. For added touches, I used a sun stamp and some blue distress ink lightly around a few of the circles and added the cute sentiment!
I absolutely loved doing this page! Art journaling is so much fun!

Happy Creating!
