Hello Everyone, Shilpa here,! I’m sharing the fairy Garden tag with you today! It’s such a fun project that is as pretty as it is easy to make! I used this fairy form Rita’s new book. Have you purchased your copy of Rita’s Magical Theater book yet?
The book is full of amazing Dolls and theater making accessories where Rita has also designed costumes for these beautiful dolls. They are ready to use the background as well to create the scene. Magical Theater is a unique book and is a useful tool for any paper crafting lover to create a quick project.
Products Used
For this post, I created a tag using the Fairy paper doll from this book.
My fairy garden tag is a mixed media tag. To create a tag background, I adhered different design paper pieces on the surface using Mod Podge. Next, I applied thin white gesso randomly on the surface. Wiping some away revealed a beautiful design in the background. When tag was dried completely, I applied distress ink in “Broken China” through a bubble patterned stencil on the surface.
My focal point is a lovely Fairy image from Rita’s book. Magical Theatre . The book is available as a printed book or an e-book.
On this tag, you can see that I have used different graphic elements; they all are from the Magical Theater book.
Project Technique
For the fairy garden tag cut out the Fairy’s body parts first. Color the body using skin tone watercolors and let it dry completely. Joined all of the parts together. To dress her up, I cut out this lovely orange dress with a leaf border and adhered it to the body.
The wings are from the Fairy Collection page of the book. Use adhesive to attach it her back. Doesn’t it look awesome?
There is a super cute matching leafy purse in the Fairy Collection which I cut from my prints and hung from the Fairy’s hand.
I applied distress inks at the edges of all to all parts in matching colors which enhances the image.
Of course, my fairy is in the garden!
Embellishments Added
I used design papers and flower dies to make the flowers; in the center of each, I glued red sequins and for the final touch, I adhered the word “Love” on the fairy garden tag and tied ribbons at the top. My teenage daughter already took this tag from me so that she could use it for her friend’s birthday gift!
Hope you liked my project and would like to try your hands at Magical Theater.
The possibilities are endless with this book! Go grab your copy, here is the link where you can buy it!
Happy Crafting and thanks so much for stopping by!
