Hello everyone! Jenn here again with you today for another collaboration project! This time I have for you a large art tag titled “Country Girl Attitude” created using Rita’s Art Foamies Boot Stamp, ColoriQue inks in Poppy and Verdigris, and Ann Butler’s Stamp ink in Ocean Breeze along with some other fun items!!
First, I have to tell you about these wonderful products! The Colorique inks and Ann Butler ink pads are not only great individually but work very well together as well. You can mix them together, use them as watercolors and add them to mediums too!
I am sure you want to know how I made it!! So let’s get started!!
Gather up the products and tools you will need. Do any fussy cutting from cardstock, such as the cowgirl, sentiments, and sunflower here. These were all cut from a 6X6 country themed cardstock pack in my stash.
Now, Let’s get inky!
Using Ann Butler’s ink pad in Ocean breeze and Rita’s Art Foamie Cowboy boot, stamp onto heavy cardstock or watercolor cardstock. Coat stamped image with clear embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool. Once embossing is dry drip a few drops of Colorique Poppy onto your craft mat or palette and add a little water. Use a brush or sponge dauber to apply all over the boot and then dab with a baby wipe. Isn’t this cool? I love how the boot now looks like worn leather! 🙂 Cut out the boot and set it aside to completely dry.
Now let’s move on to the tag!! 🙂
Brush the tag surface with heavy white gesso sparingly and dry with a heat tool.Using a palette knife mix together a small scoop of modeling paste, a couple drops of white gesso, a couple drops of Colorique Poppy, and a drop of Colorique Verdigris and mix well. This will give you this amazing shade of greenish brown shown. Next, use a woodgrain stencil (this is from Prima) and your palette knife to apply the texture to the tag randomly.
Use a sponge dauber and a very light amount of Colorique Verdigris to add more color to the outside edges of the tag and on some of the gessoed areas. Doing this adds more of the boot color and as a result, will pop underneath and highlight your tag. Do the same to a smaller tag and adhere sentiment.
Assembly Time! 🙂
Apply cut pieces of cardboard scrap to the back of first fussy cut and place on the tag with adhesive.
Layer your fussy cut images on to the tag with adhesive.
Final Touches! 🙂
Mix together a small amount of heavy white gesso and water and do some splattering! Add some colored paper flowers and there ya go!
This has been a very fun project and I have really enjoyed using these amazing products from Lisa Marie Jimenez and Ann Butler along with one of Rita’s great designs.
