Adventure Awaits

Howdy Y’All from North Texas!! I’m Kathryn Morrow with a super bright and colorful Adventure Awaits tag made with Rita Barakat’s awesome Art Foamies Cowboy Boot stamp!

Adventure Awaits Kathryn Morrow

As you can tell with this tag, I love bright colors! Not only in my art work but in my life Turquoise and pink are two of my favorite colors! (I even have a guest bedroom filled with these two colors) Orange, purple and green are on the top of my list of favs as well.  What I love about this tag is that although there are many layers on this tag, the true star is Rita’s Art Foamies Cowboy Boot stamp!  After making the tag, I grabbed a piece of left over painted paper that I knew would make the boots pop.  A brayer can be used to add a layer of acrylic white paint right on the cowboy boot. Firmly stamp it on the paper. Repeat this step to make a second boot image. After they are dry you can cut them out.

I adhered the boots onto the tag, then grabbed another piece of left over painted paper and used a star punch to punch out several stars (who doesn’t think stars go with cowboy boots?!).  I then attached the stars to the tag.

I finished this fun and lively tag with a Tim Holtz chipboard phrase “Adventure Awaits” and added various colors of seam binding as ribbon to the top of the tag. When I think of cowboy boots, I think adventure. These Rita Barakat Art Foamies Cowboy Boots are made for walking right into an incredible adventure. If these boots could take you for an adventure, where would they take you?

I would love to know in the comments below!

Thank you for reading.

Blessings to y’all.

Journal page using Cowboy Boot Stamp

Hello Everyone, Shilpa here,

I am sharing with you a fun journal page using Rita’s Cowboy Boot stamp.

To start with, I used black archival ink on this stamp to get a lovely crisp image on my textured paper.

To create the background on the white mixed media paper, I applied white gesso first and let it dry completely.

I sprayed teal and yellow inks and dried it on the surface by using a heat tool.

I created splatters with same inks and brush.

Then I added the Cowboy Boot stamp image onto the surface.

I created outlines around the Cowboy Boot stamp. using a black marker.

Lastly, I added journaling words and sequins…. and my Cowboy Boot . art journal page was ready.

You could turn this into a card, invitation or even a canvas! We would love to see what you create, please leave us a link below or tag us on FB @RitaBarakat1 or Instagram @RitaBarakatart!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Free Spirit Insta Album

Hi there, Karen here!

Today I’m sharing an Altered Insta Album created with Rita’s Cowboy Boot Artfoamie stamp. I had the most fun with this stamp.  It measures 6 x 4 and perfect for large projects.  I coordinated this fun stamp with some oxide inks, flowers, and dyed ribbon. The album measures 11 x 6.

I began the altering of this album by inking some watercolor paper with various oxide inks and water. I used oxide colors: worn lipstick, wilted violet, broken china, and fossilized amber.  These colors compliment each other well.

I inked (2) 12 x 12 sheets of watercolor paper. I also used the remaining loose ink to coordinate ribbon for this album. I heat set the inked watercolor papers and continued adding inks until I was happy with the end result.

I inked the Cowboy Boot foam stamp with black ink and stamped onto the inked watercolor paper. I love how crisp the stamping came out. The ink colors in the background peek through perfectly. I stamped the boot onto the second ink watercolor paper and then cut the boots out using scissors.

I trimmed one of the inked watercolor papers down to layering size and transferred a script to the watercolor paper using a stencil, Copic marker, and air compressor. I also tapped some broken china oxide ink onto the inked watercolor paper to accent the color combination. I used a heat tool to heat set the additional ink on the watercolor paper.

Layer the inked watercolor paper onto coordinating cardstock. Add ribbon and metal charm to the bottom of the watercolor and cardstock layer, and adhere to the front of the Insta Album. Add stamped cowboy boots to the album.

I added coordinating flowers, heart pearl pins, Free Spirit charm and ribbon to the front of the Insta Album.

I absolutely loved working with the cowboy boot stamp. The 4 x 6 size of the boot was ideal for this altered project. The stamp that I used for this project can be found using the link below:
