Hello Everyone! Shilpa here. I am so happy to share my first creation as Design Team member for Rita Barakat Designs. I have created an art journal page using Rita’s Hot Air Balloon stamp Zen Doodle. Honestly, this is the first time using an Art Foamies stamp and I love using it!
To start my journal page, I stamped the balloon image on a white piece of paper using acrylic paint. The paint gives the perfect image showing all the lovely detailed designs on it. Next, I cut the balloon out it to use as my focal point on my journal page.
On the journal page itself, I first adhered dictionary papers. Because I was going to use acrylic paint, I applied a layer of white gesso as a primer to the whole surface. I then covered almost the whole page with yellow acrylic paint and let it dry completely. At the edges of the page, I used blue acrylic paint. Before it dried, I put a net stencil on it and removed some of the blue paint with a baby wipe. For the next layer, I stenciled hearts with pink acrylic paint. For more texture, I used blue archival ink and a texture stamp, and randomly stamped the image on the page. I also printed circles with a bottle cap and some paint. Lastly, I adhered the Hot Air Balloon Zen Doodle to the journal page.
